The LAST GOODBYE
Due to the pressures of work and
the fact I'm managing my own band called Echo
Sound Location now, as well as doing a full time job for a rather
high profile website that deal with celebrities, I've decided to
concentrate on making the Kitten Shrine an archive to my memories
of the Kittens between 2000 and 2002, when I was just a fan and
sometimes even got to work filming them.
So now the shrine will exist for
information purposes to give you a picture of what I felt about
their music and them in those years, when in my view they were the
best girlband in the country.
2000 had been a great year for
filming them in my old job at virtuetv.com. I fell in love with
their charm, humour, outrageous behaviour. But most of all I quietly
fell in love with Liz McClarnon (one day I'll buy you that drink
I promised you the day before Whole Again went to number 1 in the
UK)
2001 was spent on the dole and with time on my
hands, hence it being probably my most productive year for this
site. 2002 I was back in work, but still had enough time for the
site. Now I'm afraid I just don't have time. So instead the site
will be an archive and reference point for those who want to find
out a bit about the Kittens.
The Kittens were one of the reasons that I started
writing songs again after two years when I didn't want to write
a note. Since then I've actually made a little money from it and
we've completed 16 tracks in our days off. Without having heard
them all that time ago, I might never have re-discovered my love
of music and my desire to be in a band. Thank you eternally for
that Liz, Kerry and Natasha.
I'll add all the old 2000 stuff at some point
and tidy up the writing, reviews and so on (yes my spelling and
checking has always been this bad) when I get a free weekend. But
in case I don't here's My
Life With The Kittens, to remind you all why I think they are
so special.
Thanks to everyone who has been a source of help
over the years, especially Dom at Virgin, everyone at virtuetv and
off course the girls themselves. It's the last goodbye from this
as a news site, but not quite See Ya forever.
