This is what's been going on in the month of May, please check out the archives for more stories from 2001. The 2000 archive will reappear at some point soon. 21st May 2001 Kittens taking over the World - News reaches me that the Kittens are doing rather well in the charts in Austria (no. 2, I believe). this is to add to their number one in New Zealand and loads of other top 5 chart positions elsewhere in the world. So world domination may be not far off, or at least a certain level of worldwide recognition. Top Cats at Topshop - The Girls will apparently be turning up at TopShop on Oxford Street on 27th May. It may get a little crowded according to Trish (AK messageboard mod [well ex-punk actually]), and if it is downstairs in Topshop, I advise getting there early as not much space. However if you get there later and it is packed, there will doubtlessly be much opportunity for criminal activity (of the long term, non-returnable loan type). I will doubtlessly be there (if I have no job by then), looking slightly abashed, and possibly being mistaken for a deviant (or at least the oldest male AK fan in the building, unless someone brings their dad). 15th May 2001 Right Now across Europe - It would seem that finally Right Now, in it's revised form (which features You Are, Eternal Flame and various revised versions of the first album) has been launched onto the european public. Already import versions are appearing in the shops over here in the UK, where the revised album isn't due until August. My advice is not to buy imports, it's a dirty scam by record shops who want to cash in. Wait for the proper release this summer. However there is much excitement over the album amongst the hard core of fans. Surprisingly the new album still contains traces of Kerry in her vocals on Right Now and See Ya. So she's not entirely forgotten then, which is nice of them. Apology - Sorry about the lack of news on this site at the moment, I'm a bit busy trying to find myself a job, having been out of work since February. I've also kind of lost a bit of the initial enthusiasm that drove this site along. Maybe I need a outing to see the Kittens somewhere (like Topshop Oxford Street in May, or Shepherds Bush Empire in July).Trish (The message board moderator and source of all information) was kind enough to have a look at my CV, but Liverpool is a long way from my little "Town called Malice". Also I've been a bit busy doing websites for my band and for a very talented friend by the name of Will Tidey. |
