UPDATE: 31st October 2001 Kittens, Continental, International... - The word coming down from Trish and the official AK important type people is as follows: "Just to let you all know that `You Are' will be released in Europe, NZ and the States etc all on the same date. " And that date will now be 26th November 2001, and not 19th as previously stated. (It seems to be common practice now to shunt signles around at short notice to avoid competition and guarantee a good chart slot). Here's our short speil about the single: "It is of course "You Are", the upbeat ballad, which was a new addition to the revamped Right Now. It'll be the seventh single from the album (or eighth if you count the release of Cradle in the "Far East") and definitely the last. All present and correct are the catchy as an itch hooks, the stirringly emotional chorus and of course three very cute girls with lovely voices. So we'll see you down the front for a spot of lighter waving then?". It's a bold move to go for such global coverage, so expect to see our lasses pinging around the world in a whirlwind of publicity. Over the weekend we'll be adding our full review hear and making a few updates to co-incide with the build up, including the webcast, speaking of which.... Another hour of madness, Tuesday 20th November 6pm GMT - No, not me on a Friday night, you fools! It's them girls again, as they team up with my former employers, virtuetv.com (will resist any comment I could make), and popgoss.com (those luverly peeps at Virgin Records, hi to all of ya!) to bring you a "live" hour of questions and chat during which the girls will be answering your questions and talking about the world of Kitten as it is now. to get your question in I suggest you go to http://www.popgoss.com and look for more details. 22nd October 2001 Lil and Tommy split!!! - This is the news as stated by Trish (AK Messageboard Moderator): "Unfortunately it is true that Lil and Tommy have split up. They are still the best of friends, but with the Kittens being so busy they've hardly had a chance to see each other, so it seemed for the best for now. If Lil comes on please don't ask her about it though as it's really none of our business and she's probably still very sad about it. Cheers, Trish, AK Mod." I have to admit that I feel dead sorry for the both of them, as they always seemed like such a lovely couple, and very in love. As Trish says it's a private thing, so leave it alone and don't ask questions that are none of your business. Anyway, a big hug to both of you, and let's just hope no one pries too much. As the cliché runs "Breaking up is never easy". Kittens for Children in Need - According to annanova, the Girls will be making an appearance on 16th November at De Montfort Hall, Leicester as part of the fun happening for the event. It'll be broadcast as part of the coverage so watch out for them bouncing across your screens on BBC. (Note to Jen: make sure top fastens properly and that gaffer tape is securely in place. You wouldn't want a strap to go a wandering while on national TV. then again I seem to remember it has happened to Lil before) You Are Next! - The next single will be released on 19th November 2001 in the UK, and can you guess what is is yet? It is of course "You Are", the upbeat ballad, which was a new addition to the revamped Right Now. It'll be the seventh single from the album (or eighth if you count the release of Cradle in the "Far East") and definitely the last. Allusions have been made to the likes of Friends and to a sketch based show. Can we here at the shrine suggest a quicker alternative? Get the wigs, 'taches and trackies out, and bring back The Scousers, albeit in a a far sexier female form. At least two of ya won't have a problem with the accent, la! (There goes my hopes of ever working on that show!) Bang a Gong - Or several as the case may be. Da Kittens have been picking up awards all over the shop. This includes a Disney Kids gong and a rather prestigious Online Music Award for best pop artist website, which was collected by some of the boys from Digital Fist and Danny from C3. Have a look and see why |
