This is what's been going on in the last month, please check out the archives for more stories from 2001. The 2000 archive will reappear at some point soon.
24th July 2001 Midweek charts look favourable - My sources tell me that in the midweek charts AK are outselling Destiny's Child 2:1 (AK: 35,000, DC: 13,000). Obviously the incredible shrinking woman, has pulled out of the race (fear of a drubbing perhaps?). This means that the girls look set for another big day on the CD:UK chart on Saturday, but you can bet we'll be sitting with crossed fingers come that time. Webchat's, casts and so on - There's a whole bundle coming up this week to tie in with the release of Eternal Flame. dotmusic.com has one on Wednesday 25th at lunchtime in the UK, but my tip for the best of week will be when my old pals of virtuetv.com and C3 get together with the Kittens on the famous red leather sofas at Virgin Records HQ. It'll be the first official Kitten webcast I haven't worked on so I may be at home blubbing in front of my computer. That'll be on Thursday 26th (early evening around 5 pm UK), after the signing in London, I believe. check sites for details. 4th July 2001 Buy!Buy!Buy! - On 23rd July 2001, The Kittens look set to go head to head in a chart war every bit as big as beating U2 and Wheatus to number 1. They're up against Destiny's Child and the incredible shrinking woman that is Geri Halliwell. I suggest you all get out there and buy a copy of their funked up cover of "Eternal Flame" to ensure it gets to number 1. If you don't i'll be round with the boys to sort you out!!!! Normal service will resume shortly, once I get my computer moved into my new flat up in London! |
